Harps and Bowls

“And when he had taken it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders
fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and they were holding golden bowls
full of incense, which are the prayers of God’s people.”
Revelation 5:8

The twenty-four elders held harps and bowls filled with incense. The harps symbolize unceasing worship, adoration, and praise to God. The bowls represent intercession and prayers of His people.
Every utterance of thanksgiving … every whispered prayer … held precious in Heaven before our Lord.
The seven harps of worship declare Jesus did it all. It is finished! We rest in Him. The nine bowls of prayer signify fruitfulness and promise brought to fruition. As praise rises to God’s throne, our prayers flow unhindered throughout the world — a sweet aroma before our Saviour.
No praise lifted up falls unnoticed. No prayer poured out will ever be lost.
